What a custom programme needs from the buyer
A drawing or a sample, the duty, the material and grade, the inspection standard and the volume. Missing any one of them delays the first article.
Drawings, samples and feasibility
A dimensioned drawing is the fastest route; a physical sample with measurements and photographs is the next best. Both allow the factory to assess feasibility, tooling and tolerance before quoting, which is why the review usually returns with questions rather than a price.

First-article approval
Approve a first article dimensionally, and on a field trial where the duty is severe, before releasing a bulk order. The cost of one unit is small next to the cost of a container of parts that do not fit.

Running the programme
Fixed specification, defined packaging, agreed lead time and a documented inspection. Those four keep the tenth order identical to the first.
Private label and packaging
Under private label the buyer owns the product experience, so packaging, labelling and batch marking matter as much as the blade. Fix them in the programme documentation or each shipment will look different to the end customer.

Lead time, volume and seasonality
Snow products are ordered in a narrow window. Agreeing capacity and shipping slots ahead of the season is worth more than a small price advantage from ordering late, particularly when the goods have to clear customs.
OEM and custom questions
What do you need to quote a custom blade?
A drawing or a measured sample, the duty and surface conditions, the material or grade if specified, the expected volume and the delivery destination.
Is there a minimum order for a custom programme?
It depends on the configuration and tooling. It is confirmed in a quotation rather than on a page — send the requirement and volume and we will respond with terms.
How long does a first article take?
It depends on tooling and the finishing steps. Agreeing the drawing and the inspection method first is what keeps the timeline short, because most delays are specification questions rather than production.
Can you produce under our brand?
Yes. Private label requires the packaging, labelling and batch marking to be defined in the programme documentation so each shipment is consistent.
What happens if the specification changes mid-programme?
It becomes a new first article. Treating a specification change as a minor amendment is how a programme ends up with mixed batches in the field.
